4kW X-band Pulsed SSPA

Working with their counterparts at Teledyne MEC, Teledyne Paradise Datacom has developed a new Pulsed Radar SSPA (solid state power amplifier) that provides Operators with an ideal pathway for addressing the needs of legacy radar platforms.

The solid state technology allows customers to upgrade or replace their aging TWT, Magnetron, or Klystron-based radar platforms with a newer generation of technology. Leveraging this new Pulsed SSPA, platforms can be equipped to deliver superior SWaP, power density, scalability, and performance over a longer life cycle.

Importantly, the new 4kW X-band SSPA is configurable to meet diverse radar platform requirements, and scalable either up or down to effectively address other power levels as desired. Additionally, it reduces the risk of complete loss of service for the Operator.

This GaN-based SSPA is a good fit for various defense environments, especially Naval shipboard applications and related tactical radar systems for navigation, targeting, and tracking.  It can also address similar needs in the fields of commercial navigation and weather or air traffic control radar systems.

This SSPA is laser-focused on the emerging needs of many OEMs in the defense industry. The power levels and frequency band make it a natural fit for aging pulsed radar application platforms, and its flexibility and scalability are unsurpassed.
